    Ethics Committee

İzmir University of Economics Ethics Committees works for the protection of the welfare and rights of all individuals participating in human research. IUE Ethics Committees aim to provide qualified guidance to all researchers in human research through review and monitoring, and to guarantee research integrity.

    What is Research Integrity?
Research integrity refers to all the values, virtues, principles and practices that underpin good research practice and promote competence and confidence in the research process. In other words, it means conducting research in a way that ensures that society has confidence in the methods of producing scientific knowledge and in the findings obtained through the application of these methods.

Research integrity covers all research disciplines, all sectors in which research is conducted (higher education, industry, government, etc.) and all stages of a research project, regardless of its scale, from the initial idea and design of the project through the conduct of research and dissemination of knowledge. It also underlines that research environments and systems that include actions and attitudes referred to as “research culture”, need to be structured to promote the safeguard and enhancement of good research practices. In this sense, it concerns not only individual research projects, but also the wider research community, including research institutions, researchers, administrators, sponsors and publishers.

Izmir University of Economics adopts and promotes the values and principles of research integrity outlined in the The European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity published by ALLEA (All European Academies).
